See what visitors had to say about their Peru experience!

"This is our second trip to Peru and we had a wonderful time. Having visited Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, and Machu Picchu last time, my husband and I decided we want to see something wilder. We took an Amazon River cruise from Iquitos and explored the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. We saw different kinds of wildlife, including monkeys, macaws, toucans, caimans, anaconda etc. We caught some piranhas that we cooked for dinner. There are many villagers along the river. We visited some of them and learned to cook jungle meal and had lunch in one of the villages. It was an amazing experience. Peru is a big country, there are still a lot to explore. My husband and I would definitely come again."

"I loved experiencing the history, culture, and nature of Peru! The Incan culture is so vibrant and has influenced so much beauty and culinary traditions in Peru. The highlights of my trip were visiting and hiking at Machu Picchu, and seeing Cristo Blanco in Cusco. Cristo Blanco made my whole trip feel so peaceful and blessed. Looking forward to going back soon!"

"Slept at the base town of the mountain (Aguas Calientes) on Thursday night and left for the summit at 5am Friday morning to get up to Machu Picchu for Sunrise! :) Beautiful foggy hike and then when the sun came through it was breathtaking! Hiked to the top at the "Sun Gate" with the Leafs jersey ;) and then trekked back down to the main site as well. Also saw the "Inca Bridge" a small trail that scales alongside the back of the mountain.  Was back at Aguas Calientes in the hot springs with a cold beer in hand by 2pm!

GO LEAFS GO 10,000 feet above sea level! ;) "

"Peru is one of the most amazing places that I have visited so far. Being in Peru, seeing the archeological sites, beautiful landscapes, mountains, sustainable agriculture and the life style of Peruvian people was fantastic. It is amazing to learn about various types of vegetation, landscapes, human culture and civilization. I had a great time in Peru. This was a memorable experience for me to be in such a wonderful country like Peru. One of my highlights of 2015!"

"Went on a trip into the Amazon jungle. Our starting point was Iquitos Peru. It was remote, wild, untouched, and inspiring. Fulfilled a dream to hold a sloth when we visitited one of the villages. The Peruvian people were so friendly. I learned so much. Would definitely like to return!"

"I love to travel, it is my ultimate passion.  I have been lucky enough to travel to many places in this world and I have to say Peru was one of my favourites. It has so much to offer from the cities, to the Amazon Jungle, beautiful lake titicaca, to probably more well known Machu Picchu.  It is just such a wonderful country.  Always something fun to do, somewhere to explore and some delicious food to eat. I would recommend to everyone to spend at least few weeks of their lives exploring the amazing things Peru has to offer.  Go off the beaten path, you will be surprised at the adventures you can have."

"I went on a solo-adventure to Peru in May because I had been obsessed with photos of Machu Picchu for years and hiking the Inca Trail seemed like a great way to experience nature while on vacation. Photos cannot do justice to the beauty of the Peruvian countryside. Tall mountains, rushing rivers and blooming flowers were punctuated by ancient ruins – It doesn’t get any better than that! The food was also fantastic! The ceviche is unrivaled and I learned that I have a serious love for Pisco sours. It’s also worth mentioning that as a young woman travelling alone I felt very safe exploring Peru on my own. The only complaint I have about my trip was that it was too short, I can’t wait to return!"

"The first time I visited Peru was in 2009 as a tourist, and I knew I had to go back. In 2013 I did just that, but this time for three months on an exploration of both the north and the south. What I discovered is that Peru is a magical country, with a rich cultural history, impeccable cuisine, and huge economic potential. From desert oases and vibrant jungle to ancient Inca ruins and recently unearthed mummies, Peru is the ultimate destination for those with a penchant for adventure."

"When I was young, my father and I talked about taking a grand adventure to a land far away. As I got older, life got busier and the time for an epic father-son trip slipped through our fingers...that was until this year. In January we took a trip to Peru. We visited Machu Picchu, we hiked the massive sand dunes of Huacachina and we ate ceviche on the coast, while waves crashed in on the beach. Peru provided us with perfect weather, friendly people and a long overdue father-son re-connection. Gracias!"

"Peru was a wonderful experience! I am Mexican and is was a delight to experience another Latin culture - so similar and yet so different at the same time. Besides enjoying Peruvian food, which is a luxury, I had the opportunity to meet wonderful people and learn a little about your country. Hopefully I can go back soon!"

"My 2 weeks in Peru were truly epic. The sights and the sounds, the rich history, the various microclimates, the food, the super friendly locals - all meld to put Peru as a must-see destination on a traveller's map. A life changing experience indeed."

“The beauty of the Peruvian landscape and the kindness of the Peruvian people cannot be understood until it is experienced firsthand. My time in Peru will always be remembered fondly - the delicious and healthy food, the colourful works of art and textiles, the beautiful smiles of the people and the impressive scenery in both the cities and the mountains. I look forward to returning to Peru one day!”

“Travelling has always excited me. I have dreamt many times as a child of being able to just pick up a carry-on, show up at the nearest airport and choose a flight. Fast forward many years and I now work in a field that allows me to marry two passions – travelling and diplomacy. So you can only imagine how excited I was when told I would be journeying to Perú for a week to participate in a workshop. I could barely contain my joy,I had always dreamed of visiting Machu Picchu, and now it would happen!!!”

“Peru had been on my travel wish list for years.  Not only for the legendary Machu Picchu, but for the exciting food scene.  My culinary romp through Peru included cooking lessons at the ChocoMuseo in Cuzco, and at SkyKitchen in Lima.  Three restaurants in Lima made the list of World's 50 Best Restaurants and I tried them all!  I had a great trip and I will definitely return!
